A KIND OF GUISE

General Information

Ever since the journey of A KIND OF GUISE started in 2009 in Munich, exploring diverse cultures and drawing inspiration from travels has been at the heart of the brand. AKOG creates timeless, high-quality garments through refined techniques that blend innovation with tradition. The brand produces its goods locally with specialist makers in Germany and family-run manufacturers in Northern Italy, ensuring exceptional quality and responsible production.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Generally fits true to size in standard European alpha sizing. Most pieces are cut with a comfortable regular-to-relaxed silhouette; take your normal size for the intended fit. If between sizes, sizing up is the safer choice for additional ease, though garment-specific measurements should always take priority.

AURALEE

General Information

The name AURALEE — "the lands that light up" — evokes a subtle luminosity, reminiscent of morning light: calm, bright, and softly radiant. Each collection begins with the pursuit of quality, grounded in the careful research of exceptional raw materials and yarns sourced in Japan and around the world. This dedication extends to close collaboration with skilled artisans and a deep respect for high craftsmanship.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Men’s numeric sizing generally converts as 3 = S, 4 = M, 5 = L and 6 = XL. Fits range from regular to deliberately relaxed depending on the garment, but the brand’s numeric sizing is consistent enough that taking your normal converted size is usually the best starting point. Check individual measurements when a precise fit is important.

BERNER KÜHL

General Information

Berner Kühl develops a refined language of contemporary clothing, shaped by restraint, proportion, and material. Drawing on tailoring traditions and technical construction, garments are built with a focus on precision and continuity. Evolving gradually, the selected fabrics are carefully sourced, mainly in Japan and Italy, and often limited — chosen for their character as much as its function. The approach resists excess. Instead, it proposes a quieter permanence and settles into the rhythm of everyday life.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses European alpha sizing, with silhouettes ranging from regular to intentionally oversized. Take your normal size to preserve the intended proportions; on particularly voluminous shirts, jackets or outerwear, one size down can work if a cleaner fit is preferred. Refer to individual measurements rather than assuming every style fits identically.

CALE

General Information

Cale is a Tokyo-based contemporary fashion label founded in 2016 by Japanese art gallery director Yuki Sato. Merging the worlds of fine art and high-end textiles, the brand is celebrated for its "quiet luxury" aesthetic, prioritizing architectural silhouettes, premium materials, and obsessive fabric development alongside traditional Japanese mills.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Typically uses Japanese numeric sizing, most commonly 3, 4 and 5. The overall fit leans relaxed, with generous chest and shoulder measurements and relatively subtle grading between sizes; a size 3 can already fit quite loosely on an average build. Because there is no useful universal US conversion, select primarily by the garment measurements and desired amount of volume.

CARTER YOUNG

General Information

Founded in 2022, Carter Young’s inspirations are tied to America’s heartland. Although CY operates internationally, the references are always informed by the brand’s cultural roots. The core ranges are mainly cut from natural fibers, with many featuring vintage washes for a pre-broken-in feel. Whenever possible, CY employs responsible production methods, from small-scale runs to using dead-stock materials left over from other companies' excess.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses a straightforward numeric-to-alpha system: 1 = S, 2 = M, 3 = L and 4 = XL for shirting and jackets. Tailoring also corresponds approximately to 38, 40, 42 and 44, while bottoms are individually mapped from 26 through 36. Take your normal size unless the specific garment is described as intentionally oversized.

ECKHAUS LATTA

General Information

Eckhaus Latta is a bicoastal American fashion brand founded in 2011 by designers Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta. Known for its experimental approach to materials and body-positive ethos, the label blends contemporary art with ready-to-wear, frequently utilizing deconstructed silhouettes and unexpected textiles.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Generally true to size, but fit can vary considerably because of the brand’s experimental and often unisex pattern cutting. Denim frequently uses actual waist sizing, while other pieces may use XS–XL or women’s numeric sizing. Take your usual size as a starting point, but consult garment measurements for cropped, stretched, deconstructed or unusually proportioned styles.

EVAN KINORI

General Information

Evan Kinori is a San Francisco-based menswear designer and pattern maker known for his slow-fashion approach, championing artisanal textiles, and subtle, military/workwear-inspired silhouettes. Launched in 2015, his namesake label produces small-batch, hand-numbered garments built to become lifetime uniforms.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses conventional XS–XL sizing, with the fit determined largely by the individual pattern. The Two Pocket Shirt is a more regular fit, while the Popover, Big Shirt and related styles have greater chest volume, dropped shoulders and longer proportions. Take your normal size for the designer’s intended silhouette rather than automatically sizing down.

ISSEY MIYAKE

General Information

Isey Miyake was a renowned Japanese fashion designer celebrated for his innovative use of technology in clothing design. Born in 1938 in Hiroshima, he survived the atomic bombing during World War II, an experience that profoundly shaped his life and work. Graduating from Tama Art University in Tokyo, Miyake honed his skills in Paris under the mentorship of Hubert de Givenchy, where he developed a vision for accessible fashion that could resonate with a broader audience beyond the elite. His groundbreaking design philosophy included the use of unconventional materials such as paper and plastic, and his signature Pleats Please collection introduced garments that maintained their shape while being machine washable. Throughout his career, Miyake emphasized sustainability and functionality, launching various lines including menswear and fragrances. Notably, he innovated with the A-Poc concept, which allowed for customizable clothing made from a single thread, reflecting his commitment to efficiency and eco-friendliness. Miyake remained a private individual, choosing to share only selective aspects of his personal life, including his experiences of surviving Hiroshima. He passed away on August 5, 2022, leaving behind a legacy of fashion that is both artistic and practical, continuing to inspire future generations of designers.

Homme Plissé Issey Miyake is a menswear diffusion line launched in 2013 by the iconic Japanese designer Issey Miyake. Famous for its signature structural pleating, the brand offers lightweight, machine-washable, and wrinkle-resistant garments designed to adapt to the wearer's body.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Sizing is primarily height-based rather than conventional US sizing: approximately 1 = up to 171cm, 2 = 172–177cm, 3 = 178–183cm and 4 = 184–189cm. Pants are commonly offered in 1–3, while tops and outerwear may extend through size 4. Because the pleated construction and elastic waists provide substantial flexibility in width, overall garment length is often the most important factor when choosing a size.

LADY WHITE CO.

General Information

Founded in 2015, Lady White Co. initially focused solely on jersey t-shirts. Now developing various sportswear forms, the brand’s expanding collection reflects contemporary moods through the personalities of our custom jerseys and fleeces, produced by family-owned factories within 10 miles from LWC’s Los Angeles headquarters.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Generally true to size, with many styles intentionally boxy through the chest and somewhat shorter through the body. The classic Our T-Shirt has a slightly wide chest and compact length; take your normal size for the intended fit or size up for more room through the shoulders and arms. Individual styles vary from standard to more exaggerated boxy proportions.

LEMAIRE

General Information

Lemaire is a fashion house led by Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran. Its collections balance form and function in thoughtful clothing and accessories designed for everyday life. Shaped by a cross-cultural sensibility and enriched by ongoing collaborations with artists and artisans, the wardrobe evolves season after season. Garments and accessories are made with care, using time-honoured techniques and fabrics sourced primarily from Europe and Japan.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Men’s sizing follows French tailoring conventions: 44 = XS, 46 = S, 48 = M, 50 = L, 52 = XL and 54 = XXL. Most garments are designed with relaxed, fluid proportions, so taking your normal size generally produces the intended LEMAIRE silhouette rather than an excessively large fit. Size down only when deliberately seeking a narrower or less draped appearance.

MAN-TLE

General Information

MAN‑TLE is a group of products focused on durability, reliability, and practicality. With a pragmatic, egalitarian sensibility, the brand applies itself with a discerning and easy-going manner. Delivering products imbued with these qualities, MAN‑TLE garments adapt with the wearer to their evolving terrain. Finding inspiration in Australia, MAN‑TLE integrates this into products in Japan using original cloth and hardware. Industrialised utility scaled to everyday life; these are the products that MAN‑TLE lives with.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Men’s garments use XXS–XL sizing and are intentionally generous, particularly shirts and outerwear. Take your usual size for MAN-TLE’s characteristic loose, functional silhouette; customers wanting substantially less volume may consider sizing down, but should compare actual measurements first. Women’s-specific garments use numeric sizes 0–4.

MARGARET HOWELL

General Information

Margaret Howell is a renowned British fashion designer known for her understated, functional, and androgynous clothing. Established in 1970, her eponymous brand focuses on timelessness, high-quality tactile fabrics, and workwear-inspired silhouettes that prioritize how a piece of clothing feels when worn.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Generally fits true to size with understated, comfortable proportions rather than slim cuts. MHL pieces in particular often have relaxed, boxy or workwear-inspired silhouettes, but customers should normally remain with their usual size to maintain the intended shape. Size down only if a noticeably trimmer appearance is preferred.

MFPEN

General Information

Mfpen is an independent Danish menswear label founded in Copenhagen by designer Sigurd Bank. Known for its elegantly relaxed approach to Scandinavian minimalism, the brand reinterprets classical tailoring, vintage workwear, and 90s silhouettes into everyday staples. The brand strives to make a minimal impact with working methods and production. Where possible Mfpen first looks to source and make use of deadstock fabrics.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses standard alpha sizing, but the overall fit is relaxed and contemporary, with wide straight trousers, mid rises and generously proportioned tailoring appearing throughout the collection. Take your normal size for the intended silhouette. On explicitly oversized jackets or tailoring, sizing down one size can provide a cleaner fit without making the garment appear fitted.

ORSLOW

General Information

Founded by Ichiro Nakatsu, OrSlow is a respected Japanese clothing brand that combines traditional craftsmanship with timeless design. Inspired by vintage American workwear, military uniforms and classic outdoor clothing, the brand creates garments that focus on quality and long-term wear. Since its beginning, OrSlow has built a reputation for producing thoughtfully made clothing that values durability and authenticity over fast changing fashion trends.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses Japanese numeric sizing, but exact letter-size conversions can vary by garment and retailer, making measurements especially important. Most men’s styles progress approximately from sizes 1 through 4 or 5, while the cut can vary dramatically between slim, regular, vintage and wide fits. Choose according to measured waist, rise and thigh rather than relying solely on the numeric tag—particularly for fatigues and denim.

OUR LEGACY

General Information

OUR LEGACY is an independent fashion brand based in Stockholm, Sweden founded in 2005 by Jockum Hallin, Cristopher Nying and Richardos Klarén. Known for applying custom-developed fabrics on signature shapes, the brand has amassed a devoted following over the years establishing the role of a cult brand. The collections include men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, defined by a progressive exploration of seasonal themes through an intricate attention to detail and repurposing of materials.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Generally true to size despite many garments having deliberately relaxed, boxy or oversized silhouettes. Men’s European sizing commonly runs 44–52, with 48 functioning approximately as a medium. Take your normal size for the intended silhouette and only size down when specifically trying to reduce the volume of a relaxed or oversized style.

REPRODUCTION OF FOUND

General Information

Founded in Tokyo in 2016, Reproduction of Found is a footwear brand dedicated to faithfully recreating vintage military and service trainers from the 1950s to the 1990s. The label merges historical authenticity with premium construction, producing hand-crafted sneakers in the same European factories originally contracted by armies.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses European whole-size footwear sizing and generally fits true to size. Take your normal EU size as the starting point; for half sizes, recommendations can vary slightly by model, so foot width and toe shape should also be considered. The classic German Military Trainer has a relatively low profile and narrower toe box, making exact measurements particularly useful for wider feet.

SSSTEIN

General Information

SSSTEIN (formerly known as stein) is an acclaimed Japanese menswear and unisex label founded by designer Kiichiro Asakawa in 2016. The brand is celebrated for its masterful tailoring, muted color palettes, and fluid, oversized silhouettes that balance minimalist beauty with a highly technical, mathematical approach to fabrics and construction.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

The brand is intentionally built around fluid, loose and oversized proportions, particularly in shirting, tailoring and outerwear. Take your normal alpha size to achieve the intended SSSTEIN silhouette; sizing down one size can be appropriate when a customer wants less volume, but it will alter the designer’s intended proportions. Pants vary between straight, wide, relaxed and explicitly oversized cuts, so use individual measurements.

STILL BY HAND

General Information

Founded in 2000 by designer Yusuke Yanagi, STILL BY HAND is a Japanese menswear label known for its "Unique Basics." The brand focuses on refined, minimalist silhouettes made from premium Japanese fabrics, seamlessly blending tailoring with comfortable, everyday sportswear.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses Japanese numeric sizing on many pieces, commonly 1, 2 and 3, roughly progressing from smaller to larger men’s sizes. Garments generally fit true to size while retaining the brand’s characteristic comfortable, subtly relaxed proportions. Take your normal equivalent size and consult measurements when choosing between sizes.

STUDIO NICHOLSON

General Information

Launched in 2010 by Nick Wakeman, Studio Nicholson is a no-nonsense clothing brand that revolves around a fabric-first approach. Silhouettes are purposefully playful, with the volume dialed up to a notch that guarantees maximum comfort whilst retaining the perfect, deliberately awkward proportions. Stripped back, luxurious and casual, the modular wardrobe celebrates clever layering and polished, practical simplicity.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Generally true to size, but the brand’s signature fit incorporates substantial volume, relaxed shoulders and wide or straight trousers. Take your normal size to preserve the intended proportions; certain especially generous styles are specifically designed to fit large and may warrant sizing down. Fit should feel architectural and roomy rather than conventionally oversized.

YOKO SAKAMOTO

General Information

Yoko Sakamoto is a unisex brand launched in 2016 in Japan. The designs emphasize bringing the nature of the material to life in clothing, highlighting the original qualities of the material in easy, comfortable silhouettes. Craftsmanship is the core value, leading to pieces that can last a lifetime and become favorites for the wearer.

Notes on Sizing and Fit

Uses gender-neutral S, M and L sizing and generally fits larger than conventional menswear. Shirts, tees and outerwear tend toward boxy, oversized shapes with dropped shoulders and considerable chest volume; even a small can provide a relaxed fit. Take your normal size for the intended silhouette or size down when a more conventional fit is preferred.
